Orange patrol officers made extra trips back to the police station Tuesday as reports from crimes came in. Five different people walked in with complaints of money being stolen from their banking accounts with debit card information. All five still had their cards, but somehow the numbers were stolen. One of the thefts was nearly $6,800. Four of the five were from accounts at a credit union with a local branch. Chaz L. York, 23, of Vidor died Friday, October 14th, 2016 in Beaumont, Texas. Born in Beaumont, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Chaz was an Outside Salesman for Labelleco Fabrication in Beaumont. Chaz enjoyed anything with competition, he was a very active person, he was a golfer, bowler and played softball for the Elite's and Young Guns teams. On October 8, 2016, Orangefield High School Speech and Debate teams competed in the West Hardin High School tournament. The Cross Examination debate teams consisted of Alyssa Kelley and Katy Swiere, placing 2nd; Alexis Sturrock and Tatum Garlington, placing 4th; and Garrett Crooks and Griffin Batchelor. Accident Backs Up I-10 Traffic
Around 10am Saturday, this vehicle veered off of I10 eastbound near Simmons Drive in Orange and landed upside down. At least one witness said it looked like an 18 wheeler cut in front and maybe bumped the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway. Cayce Draper runs hard as a couple of Bears try to take him down Friday. Friday night the Bridge City Cardinals did what they do best, run the football to another victory in a 54-28 win over the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears. The Cards (4-2, 2-0) rolled up 421 yards of offense, all on the ground, as three backs crossed the 100 yard mark.
