People taking selfies for social media after voting need to keep their smart phones out of the polling booth. Orange County Elections Administrator Tina Barrow said voting rules prohibit electronic recording devices to be out in polling places. Voters should keep their devices in a bag or pocket. The Bridge City Cardinals are the District 10-4A, Division I champions. The Cardinals won their fourth straight game 49-31 over the Navasota Rattlers Friday night at Larry B. Ward Stadium in Bridge City to clinch their first district championship since 2002. Bridge City (6-2, 4-0) literally ran over the Rattlers grinding out 526 yards and 28 first downs all on the ground. In a play-in game, WOS beat Hamshire-Fannett in five sets to make the playoffs as the fourth place team. The two were tied after the district campaign. Silsbee beat LCM in four sets. Although they share the district crown, the Tigers will go in as the number one seed, LCM two, Bridge City three and WOS four. Kevin Ross is a Maintenance Specialist with 26 years of service at DuPont and his daughter Hannah Ross is currently a Mechanical Engineering student working at the site as part of her degree. Kevin’s father, Hannah’s grandfather, retired from DuPont. Brother Kirk Ross is a Reliability Technician currently, and son Austin previously interned during his studies in Chemical Engineering.
