Robert M. “Bob” Thompson, 86, passed from this life and into glory very fittingly on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2016. Funeral services Nov. 15 will begin with visitation and viewing at 10 a.m. in the Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. A graveside service will then be held at 11:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City. Officiants will include the Rev. David Wagner of Community Church and the Rev. Four Car Accident on I-10
At approximately 8:45p.m. Saturday, the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a multiple vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Vidor. A 1965 Ford Falcon was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near Rose City. The right tire came off of the Ford sending the vehicle into a spin. The Ford struck the inside concrete barrier and became disabled in the roadway. The dislodged tire from the Ford struck a 2011 Chrysler passenger vehicle. Orangefield (5-5, 2-2) will face the Bellville Brahmas (8-2, 4-0) in the opening round of the playoffs. The Brahmas run the same Slot T as do the Bobcats and will get into the Spread on occasion. Man Struck By Train
On Nov. 12 at 1:06 AM, Orange Police dispatch received a call from the Union Pacific Railroad who stated that they believed that they had struck someone lying on the railroad tracks. Officers arrived on the scene at 1:08 AM and after checking the area, located a 32 year old male Orange resident lying on the west side of the tracks with serious injuries. Acadian Ambulance and the Orange Fire Department First Responders were called to the scene. Student Congressional Debate, a popular UIL event in Texas, is a competition where high school students act as members of the United States Congress by debating bills and resolutions. Before the event, each school submits mock legislation to be debated.
