BC, LCM Bands Compete Saturday

Bridge City and Little Cypress-Mauriceville bands will be making what has become an annual trip to the Area Marching Contest in Lindale on Saturday. The Bears perform at 2:15 and the Cards take the field at 2:45pm. The top 12 will perform in the Finals later in the evening and the top 7 will go to State. Nazy Lacombe

Nazy Lacombe, 96, of Vidor, passed away on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024, at Vidor Health and Rehab. Born in Hessmer, Louisiana, Nazy married the love of her life Louis Lacombe in 1945 and moved to Port Arthur, TX, before moving to Vidor, Texas, in 1966 where she became a beloved part of the community and a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. A homemaker throughout her life, Nazy poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home. Jail Population:   We currently have 18 inmates in the following jails; 13 housed in Newton, 2 housed in Beauregard, and 3 housed in Jasper. Turner Player of the Week

WOS QB Marcus Turner is the KOGT Player of the Week for week nine sponsored by Team Granger. Turner was 8-12 for 263 and three touchdowns, and he was the Mustangs leading rusher with 71 yds. in the 35-0 shutout of Silsbee. The senior has been a key reason for the Mustangs success. In his last four games he's completed 77% of his passes for 918 yds. and 8 touchdowns. WOS will host Tarkington Friday in their final home game of the season. Vidor Band At State

Update: Pirates finished in the Top 15. Congratulations on a great season. Bands from across the state will compete for top honors at the 2024 UIL State Military Class Marching Band Championships to be held October 29-30, at McLane Stadium on the campus of Baylor University in Waco. Reginald "Reggie" Zueman Stevenson, 68, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at his home. A lifelong resident of Vidor, Reggie was a dedicated family man, friend, and community member who left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Trailer Catches Fire

A little before 3pm Sunday a man pulled off the road after seeing smoke coming from his trailer. He pulled into the Whataburger on 16th. Orange Fire arrived to put out the fire. The Whataburger drive thru and the car wash were closed while they put out the blaze and investigated the cause. They had to take what was left of the contents out of the trailer.
