Young Audiences of Southeast Texas and the Vidor Business Network are joining forces to present Really Big Show, free to the public, on Tuesday evening, November 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Vidor High School auditorium. BC Water Filters Approved
Bridge City received some good news Monday from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) according to City Manager Jerry Jones. The letter from the state agency giving permission to proceed with installing filters in the water wells was received by Bridge City. The better news of no more brown water will still be a few more months. Jones informs that Napco which will add the appropriate chemicals to the filters still needs to do that, and it may be awhile because of the holiday season now through December. Police Locate 3 Year Old By Interstate
A 3-year-old girl was reunited with her family Saturday morning after drivers alongside Interstate 10 saw her standing by the highway waving at traffic. Orange police reported they received a 9-1-1 call at 7:19 a.m. Saturday after a couple stopped and picked up the child in the 800 block of Lutcher Drive. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the girl was cold, wet and shaking. She spoke only Spanish. Other motorists also stopped and one spoke Spanish. Update: Wienerschnitzel says following a remodeling and new ownership, the Orange location should reopen in the 3-6 months. An institution in Orange has closed. Wienerschnitzel, which has been operating almost continuously for nearly 50 years, has ceased operations on MacArthur Drive. The owner of the franchise told KOGT he made the decision after issues between the franchise and franchisee. Orange police said a gunman wearing red pants, a black hoodie and a yellow bandanna over his face robbed the Crawdad's off Interstate 10 at MLK Jr. Drive about midnight Sunday. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said store clerks believe the man is white, but his head and face were covered. He is described as about 5-feet 10-inches tall and about 160 pounds. He showed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash. After getting the cash, he ran out and apparently drove away.
