LCM Bus In Accident Monday
A Little Cypress-Mauriceville school bus carrying high school students was involved in a one vehicle accident Monday afternoon. No one on the bus was injured. Most students were moved to a second bus for the trip home. A few others had parents pick them up at the site. According to the district, the bus was on Bilbo Road, a very narrow street, and the driver moved toward the shoulder as a truck approached from the opposite direction. Man Arrested For Shaking Baby
A 28-year-old man is in the Orange County Jail facing life in prison for seriously injuring his 2 1/2 month-old son by violent shaking. The baby had to be taken by medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital in Houston with brain injuries. He has recovered and is living with his mother and 2-year-old brother with relatives. A charge of injury to a child, a first degree felony, was filed with the Orange County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 office against Jeffrey Allen Sanchez. Bond has been set at $250,000. Bridge City Police report that Monday morning around 9am, an accident occurred in the 2100 block of Texas Ave. when a 4 door Mercury pulled in front of a small Ford pick up. The truck struck the Mercury on the drivers side door. The driver of the pick up a 17 year old female, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car, 87 year old Glenn Bradley, died as a result of his injuries. Bradley, "Mr. Glenn" will be missed by many. Orange Weekend Police Reports
A 21-year-old woman originally arrested for public intoxication Friday night faces additional charges for resisting arrest with Orange police and later head-butting an Orange County corrections officer. Orange Patrol Officer D.B. Mulhollan reported the woman told him she had taken a "molly" (ecstasy). He said the woman called 9-1-1 from apartments at 2600 Allie Payne Road at 7:53 p.m. Friday.
