Donald Christopher Brock was born to Frances Jones and Donald L. Brock in Houston, TX. He was a 1987 graduate of M.B. Smiley High School in Houston, TX. "Chris"" was an avid fan of the Houston Texans and had no problem letting you know it. Much of his life was spent in the Orange area where he made many lifelong friends. The Lady Mustangs of West Orange-Stark are under a new head coach as Tiffany McFatter has taken the reins this season. She takes over from Randy Ragsdale after serving one year as his assistant. Coach McFatter has three returners from last season’s team and a familiar face coming back to the Lady Mustangs. Friday, December 9, turned out to be a special day for one third grader at Little Cypress Elementary. Maddox Manuel is a student of Josh Leger, music teacher for LCE. Leger uses a program called “Class Dojo” as one of the tools to encourage positive behavior in his classes. According to Leger, “Maddox is just an awesome young man. Can Drive A Big Success
The seventh annual KOGT/Granger Chevrolet Can Drive was another huge success thanks to the many people, businesses, schools and organizations who braved the weather Thursday morning. 15,000 pounds of non-perishable food were brought by car, bus, pick up, box truck, and a deuce and a half military vehicle. $1400 was also raised. James Delano Herrington
James Delano Herrington, 83 passed away peacefully after a short illness. He was born Dec. 8, 1932 in Baytown, TX. James "Delano" graduated from Moselle High School in Mississippi. He worked for and retired from E. I. DuPont in Orange, TX. He was extremely proud of his service to his country in the U.S. Army and Army reserve. He served during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1961. He was a member of the local post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He also was a member and had served as Commander of the American Legion in Sulphur, Post 0179.
