Karen Sue Fox, 51, of Orange, passed away on December 6, 2016. A graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2016, at Mansfield Cemetery in Vidor. Following the service, there will be a memorial gathering held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Pecan Acres Baptist Church. Born in Beaumont, Texas, on September 26, 1965, she was the daughter of George E. Fox, Sr. and Mattie Susan (Peveto) Carswell. Karen was a LVN at the Baptist Hospital in Orange for many years, and was also a loving mother and grandmother. The stars were out Friday night when the West Orange-Stark Mustangs defeated the Navarro Panthers in the 4A D2 Semifinal game at NRG Stadium. But the brightest stars were Kentavious "KJ" Miller (left) who returned a punt 70 yards for a score and had another one taken away from him with a penalty. He also had a pick six on the defensive side of the ball. Chilly temps didn't keep the crowd away from another great Orange Christmas Parade sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. Besides the parade entries the streets were lined with excited boys and girls, a live band, and hot chocolate and other goodies from MacArthur Drive down to Green Ave. Entergy won the Grand Marshal Award while the Judges Choice Award went to LCCA Express. Home Depot won the Commercial Category and Cowboy Church won the non-profit category. LCM Band and the Honey Bears won the School Division. Mustangs Going Back To State!
The West Orange-Stark Mustangs scored 28 points in the second quarter to take a commanding 35-0 lead at the half, and then coasted to a 49-7 win over Navarro Friday night at NRG Stadium. The win sends WOS back to State for the third time, looking to go Back To Back 4AD2 Champions. They will face the Sweetwater Mustangs, who upset Gilmer 48-35.
