On December 17, 2016, Daryl Broussard passed away after a yearlong battle with cancer. Daryl was born on October 20, 1964, to parents Whitney and Emma Broussard. He was a native of Orange County, Texas where he served his community as the Justice of Peace Precinct 3 county court clerk. Daryl enjoyed collecting vinyl records and had a love for music and literature. He was very supportive, and often mentored children with cancer. He was a great man who will be greatly missed. City Begins Skate Park Project
Rainy weather has delayed pouring the concrete for Orange's new skate park, but the project is still on track at Sunset Park on 16th Street. The Orange City Council Tuesday approved buying $85,411 worth of equipment. The features will include quarter pipes, bank ramps, grind ramps and other equipment skaters know. The 14 features are being bought through a public buy board with competitive bidding prices from Sk8Parks International and Power Play LT. New Pumper For OFD
The City of Orange Fire Department took delivery of a 2016 Ferrara pumper on December 8th. The new pumper is replacing a Spartan pumper that was purchased new by the City in 1993. With the changes in technology and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations, the new pumper was designed to meet or exceed these standards.
