She is survived by her mother, Rhonda Blalock and husband Jason, of Orange; 3 daughters, Kristen Combs, of Bryan, and Alexsis and Suzanne Stanaland, of Silsbee; 1 son, Zachery Combs, of Livingston; 1 brother, Roger Hunt, of Vidor; and 2 sisters, Brandy Welch, of Vidor and Charmaine Vayon, of Orangefield. Gunstream’s Days Are Numbered
As Orange County Tax Assessor-Collector, Lynda Gunstream is accustomed to precise numbers. But she's fudging a little bit now. She says she "considers it 36 years" that's she's worked in the office, even though technically she'll be 12 days short. Gunstream's last day of her term is December 31 and she is retiring. The man wanted by police seen in an earlier post today on KOGT has been identified as 52 year old Lloyd Timothy Freeman. Freeman is a suspect in several theft's and burglaries in Orange County, including numerous car burglaries in Bridge City and other parts of the county. Orange County Sales Tax Report
Sales taxes have been flat across Orange County so far during calendar year 2016. Cities and the county are at about the same income as in 2015, based on the latest payments from the state comptroller's office. The December payments cover the month of October. Support For Barges In Bessie Heights
Months ago the Commissioners Court approved a resolution opposing the fleeting of barges on the Neches River in the Bessie Heights Marsh. Since then there have been public meetings by groups both supporting the barges and opposing them being used in the marsh area. This week a group of supporters for the fleeting of barges by Savage Inland Marine in the Bessie Heights Marsh spoke to the Commissioners Court. Peveto Has New Job
Former LSU assistant coach Bradley Dale Peveto has been hired by Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze, according to a report from Scout.com. Peveto was fired as special teams coordinator by coach Ed Orgeron after Orgeron took over the permanent job in late November. Peveto had spent the past three seasons with LSU, after a four-year stint from 2005-08. Peveto coached linebackers and special teams at LSU and served as co-defensive coordinator in 2008 with Doug Mallory. The suspect in the photographs has been entering unlocked vehicles and removing valuables left inside, i.e. wallets, purses, etc. This is occurring inside and outside the city limits of Bridge City. The suspect is using stolen credit cards in Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange. The suspect is driving a gray or silver, older model (late 90's to early 2000) Chevrolet, Silverado, single cab pickup.
