Charlotte Chiasson received her award as Bridge City's Citizen of the Year at the 57th Annual Banquet held Monday evening at the BC Elementary School. Chiasson (center, with family) has dedicated the majority of her life serving the Bridge City area. Most recently, Chiasson, a 1970 BC graduate, finished a book entitled "The History of Prairie View-Bridge City." A project she's been working on for 20 years. Fire Injures Three
Two people, including a baby, were injured in a house fire on Ridgemont Drive during the weekend. One had smoke inhalation and the other suffered burns, but the injuries were not life-threatening. Orange Fire Marshal John Bilbo said the cause appears to be from a space heater in a bedroom. The fire was reported about 12:30 a.m. at a wood-frame house in the 3600 block of Ridgemont Drive. UPDATE: BCPD has arrested Joshua David Webb in connection with this theft. He's a 36 year old from Orange. The subject in the picture went into the Smoke Shop located at 1740 Texas Avenue in Bridge City, Texas on Thursday, December 22, 2016. The subject stole several different type of tobacco products and left the store without paying. The clerk said his left arm contained tattoos of flames that were red and yellow and outlined in black. Thieves Strike; Wreck Sends 3 To ER
Orange police Saturday morning discovered five pickup trucks had been hit by thieves at a boat launch on DuPont Drive. Patrol officers about 9 a.m. reported broken windows on the trucks parked at Lottie's Landing, 2106 DuPont Drive, along Adams Bayou. All trucks had empty boat trailers attached. Police reported the five owners lived in Louisiana. Also Saturday morning, a woman who was parked at Northway Park, 2000 Clark Lane, reported a car burglary. Baptist ER Closes Thursday
The private free-standing medical emergency clinics in Orange County will give anyone emergency care whether or not they have insurance. However, all patients will receive bills, according to Orange County Judge Brint Carlton. In addition, Acadian Ambulance Service will assign more units to Orange County as all ambulances will have to travel to hospitals in Beaumont or Port Arthur.
