Ricky D. Smith, the 44-year-old man who had been missing since Saturday night, has been found alive. According to Smith's sister, he was found "tired, weak, dirty and hungry, but overall great." She did not say where he was found. The Orange County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday issued a "missing" notice about him. Searchers on horseback combed the area around FM 1136 and Interstate 10. Courthouse Renovations Begin Soon
Renovations to the Orange County Courthouse as part of the Way Service energy efficiency improvements should begin in March. The Commissioners Court heard Tuesday from Phillip Nolan in the Maintenance Department that the contractors have agreed to do work on the air conditioning unit for the courthouse building beginning on Friday, March 24. Nolan informed the Commissioners that the work will be done on that Friday through the weekend and should be completed by Monday, March 27. Delivery Drivers Robbed In Roselawn
A pizza delivery man was robbed Tuesday night at the same Roselawn place where a delivery woman was robbed on Friday night. Orange Police Detective Captain Robert Enmon said investigators believe a pistol was used Tuesday night. Officers have notified pizza restaurants to caution them about deliveries. In both robberies, the thieves stole pizzas and a small amount of cash. The calls were made to different pizza companies. The Tuesday night robbery was reported at 9:46 from the 400 block of Azalea Street. OPD Stops Burglary In Progress
Orange police stopped a burglary in progress in Pinehurst early on the morning of December 23. Pinehurst Police Chief Fred Hanauer said the juvenile thieves were stealing almost $13,000 worth of dirt bikes from Triple L Honda in the 1700 block of Strickland Drive. Chief Hanauer said an Orange patrol officer was traveling by the business about 3 in the morning and saw two males walking and pushing motorcycles down the street.
