Aggravated Robbery At Store
On Feb. 25 at 9:14 pm, officers of the Orange Police Department were dispatched to the Chevron Food Mart at 2323 Lutcher in regards to an aggravated robbery. Upon arrival at 9:18 pm, it was learned that the clerk had been robbed of an undetermined amount of money by a black male with an unknown type of weapon. The suspect fled the area eastbound on the IH 10 feeder road in a maroon colored vehicle. The investigation is ongoing at this time. The YMBL South Texas State Fair results are in for art. At the district level there were 150 entries and the following Bridge City Middle School students were selected; Tuyen Le received 1st place, Diana Barriga 2nd place, Evvy Champagne 3rd place, and Juan Torres 4th place. Both the Orangefield boys’ golf teams had a good week out on the links. The Varsity boys finished 3rd in the Nederland Tournament, held out at Brentwood Country Club, on Friday. The team consisting of Logan Risinger (80), Hunter Christman (92), Brock Cross (92), Ryan Braxton (103), and Caleb Kress (112), posted their best team total of the year (367). Members of the Orangefield UIL Academic Team traveled to College Station, Texas on Friday, February 24, 2017 to begin competition at the A&M Consolidated High School Invitational meet. Competition for this meet took place on both Friday and Saturday. OHS competed against 19 other schools in the small school category (1A-4A). OHS students brought home 12 individual medals and 4 team plaques. In the Computer Applications contest, Drew Worthy took 1st place and Cade Prejean took 3rd place. Bobcat Tennis Collects Six Medals
The Orangefield Tennis team hosted the Orange County Invitational on Friday, February 24th. The Bobcats came away with six medals. After advancing to the finals for the third week in a row, girls doubles Abby Green and Ashlyn Turley placed second after being defeated by a strong Kirbyville team.
