Braden, Caden Recognized By BASS

Vidor's Braden Norton and Caden Williamson were two of six high school anglers from Texas recognized by B.A.S.S. as members of the Honorable Mention All-State Fishing Team. B.A.S.S. received nearly 300 nominations from across 31 states. From these, judges selected 45 student anglers to make the All-State Fishing Team. Additionally, 47 students received Honorable Mentions recognizing them for their tournament success as well as community service and academic achievement. Moore Joins Diamond Darlings

Bridge City graduate Izzy Moore was a member of several teams when she was a Cardinal. She's now joined a new team at Texas A&M and she couldn't be more excited. With more than 100 applications and only six spots available, Moore was selected to join the Diamond Darlings with the Aggie baseball program. "I was real excited when I found out I made the team," Moore said. Part of the requirements is that you must have a general knowledge of the game. That's not a problem for Moore. Horns Hold Off Mustangs For Title

It was a district heavyweight battle of titans, but, in the end, it was the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns coming up victorious over the West Orange-Stark Mustangs. The No. 9 state-ranked Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns defeated the No. 6 state-ranked West Orange-Stark Mustangs, 28-14, on rainy Friday night to become the champions of District 9-4A Division 2.
