Anthony Rodriguez, a fifth-grader at West Orange-Stark Elementary in Orange, is the regional winner of the Take Care of Texas art contest for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's Beaumont region. Boy Loses Life In Houston Pool
6-year-old Greyson Scott Pinner of Mauricevillle died this weekend at a Houston hospital after he was found unresponsive in a hotel swimming pool Friday. He had been in the Houston area with his family for a select team baseball tournament. The team, including his family and older brother, were staying at the hotel. Child Burned With Chemicals
A toddler was burned by cleaning chemicals Friday afternoon in Orange and was taken by medical helicopter to a Galveston hospital. Police Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the child's injuries are not life-threatening or disfiguring. Orange police report the 16-month-old was at his grandmother's house and spilled the bottle of cleaner at the residence in the 2200 block of Second Street.
