Five local athletes qualified for the State Track Meet after competing in the 4A Region III Meet in Huntsville. LCM's Eli Peveto won the 3200 (9:59) and the 1600 (4:37). Jared Dupree of WOS won the high jump at 6-8. OF's Brooklyn Goldsmith set a PR of 11-3, finishing second in the pole vault. OF's Bailee Click finished second in the high jump (5-4). The Southern Collegiate Athletic All-Conference softball team features two locals. Centenary Junior Kelsey Ancelot of Orangefield, who leads the team in batting average (.433) and on-base percentage (.469), was named First Team All-Conference as an outfielder. Sophomore Wendy Gillet of Orange appeared on the Honorable Mention All-Conference squad. Gillet, a Second Team honoree in 2017, leads the nation with eight sacrifice flies.
