The No. 8 state-ranked Mustangs made the trip to the familiar confines of Randall Reed Stadium in New Caney on Thursday night and dispatched the Sweeny Bulldogs, 41-14, in the bi-district round of the Class 4A Division 2 playoffs. “It Could’ve Been Worse”
An Thursday morning accident on MacArthur Drive in Orange did a lot of damage but fortunately, and miraculously, no one was injured. A flatbed wrecker truck pulling a trailer with a large green tank full of abrasive sand used for sandblasting was traveling westbound on MacArthur Drive in the 8am hour when the trailer came off the hitch. The trailer went across five lanes of traffic before crashing into Granger RV. LCM HS Making Improvements
LCM High School is turning some dirt on the south end of the campus as they are trying to improve the softball field as well as the parking. Superintendent Stacey Brister said the field in between the baseball and softball field is being turned into a parking lot that should hold approximately 250 cars that will also include some handicap spaces. The district is building a new road from Bear Path directly to the new parking lot as shown in the photo. The softball field has received an upgrade with new grass and infield. Fred Fontenot, born October 21, 1931, passed peacefully in his sleep on November 5, 2024. He lived most of his life in Orange, Texas attending North Orange Baptist Church and moved to the Woodlands, Texas in 2016. He was ninety-three years old. Born to Adam Fontenot and Aries Guillory in Oakdale Louisiana, moved as a young child with his family to Orange where he graduated from Stark High School in 1949.
