James Lewis Scott, 84, of Orange, Texas, passed away on November 17, 2024, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2024, at St. Paul Methodist Church in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Mark Bunch. A reception will follow at St. Paul Methodist Church’s Family Activity Center.  Born in Anson, Texas, on September 26, 1940, he was the son of Oby Dailey Scott and Ruby Glaze Scott. Prentice Ray “P.R.” Norwood

Prentice Ray "P.R." Norwood, age 85, of San Augustine passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at his residence in the Norwood community. He was born September 26, 1939, in San Augustine County to parents R.C. and Adelle (Sowell) Norwood and was a former longtime resident of the Orange area before returning to San Augustine County. P.R. proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was a tank driver. He retired after working several years as a pipefitter and pipe design engineer. Jessie "Boots" Ray Whitmire, 94, of Vidor, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native and longtime resident of Vidor, Boots lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to his family, country, and community. Boots proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, demonstrating the same strength and determination that would define his life.
