An Orange man has pleaded guilty to federal violations related to a kidnapping in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs. Putnam Darwin Richardson, 79, pleaded guilty to kidnapping and brandishing a firearm before U.S. Magistrate Judge Zack Hawthorn on November 20, 2024. According to information presented in court, on July 15, 2024, a kidnapping for ransom was reported to the FBI. Firefighters Save Home
Early Wednesday morning, firefighters from four different departments battled a shop fire but were able to keep the home from being a total loss. Firefighters from Bridge City arrived at the Hollier's home on Patillo Rd. in the Victory Gardens area to find the shop in flames. Tankers from West Orange, and ESD 3 & 4 were called in because there are no hydrants in the area. Captain Elgin Browning said the shop was a total loss and the cause is unknown as of now.
