She was born on August 30, 1943, to Herbert Elliott and Ruth Francis (Denning) Priddy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up in Groves, Texas. A graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School, she was a member of the famed Indianettes drill team and aspired to help others and become a teacher. Five students from Orange County schools won $1000 each for their writings in the upcoming anthology, The Storm Inside. The students were invited to submit to the anthology works regarding the topics of extreme weather and inequality. Update: Willhemina Walker, 45, of Orange, was charged with failure to drive in a single marked land and failure to maintain financial responsibility. - A woman suffered a broken ankle while a man suffered a broken home after she drove through it early Sunday morning. Council Hears From Food Truck Owners
At the last meeting of the Orange City Council, approximately ten local food truck owners were in attendance to complain about being turned down at the Orangetober Fest event coming up in October. The city has recently changed their policy on which food trucks will be allowed to work the city sponsored events. Vendors now have to fill out a form and be chosen by a committee.
