The forecasted cold will initially slow the bite as fish become accustomed the fish will really start to feed. Bass are chasing shad in the shallows and off points. When you can find grass on the south end there is usually a bass that can be caught on crankbaits. Crappie and white bass are moving in the river channel. Man Shot In Foot
On December 7th, 2024, at 7:03 P.M., officers with the City of Orange Police Department were dispatched to the area of Bluebonnet and Circle S Street in reference to shots fired. Officers checked the area and spoke to several individuals. No contact was made with anyone who claimed to have been involved. Several hours later, officers were dispatched to Christus Hospital in reference to a subject with a gunshot wound to the foot. Earlier in the year Kevin Smith learned that he would be in the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024 and Tuesday night in Las Vegas, the official induction was made during a banquet at the Bellagio. John Austin Nagel, 78, passed away on December 11, 2024 in Beaumont, Texas. John called Vidor home for most of his life and was retired from Mobil Oil. He was a proud member of the U.S. Airforce where he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal for serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Jeanne Goetschius, 91, passed away at her home in Vidor, Texas on Monday, December 9, 2024, surrounded by her family. Jeanne was born and raised in Port Arthur where she enjoyed playing piano and singing. Her mother taught her to sew at an early age, which developed into a lifelong passion. The battle of unbeatens took place in Bridge City Tuesday as the Lady Cards hosted Little Cypress-Mauriceville in 18-4A play and the game did not disappoint a packed house. BC took a 32-27 lead at the half. LCM star Keylie Washburn got into foul trouble but Amaya Meadows helped the Bears stay in the game.
