10:30am-Lanes opened 5am - Both I10 east and westbound lanes are shut down and traffic is being diverted at the mile-marker 4 on the Louisiana side and at the 877-mile marker on the Texas side to SH 87 and SH 12. This happened early this morning on I10 involving three 18 wheelers near the Travel Info Center. No injuries reported. Rainbow Bridge Project Delayed
Back in March TxDOT announced an 18 month project where they would be closing the Rainbow Bridge in the fourth quarter of 2024, forcing southbound traffic to share the Veterans Bridge. The public was not happy about the news considering the traffic issues that are already being caused by the new construction in both Orange and Jefferson County. While the closing of the bridge has had to be done on occasion for repairs, the fact that we were going to have use two 90 degree turns to get to the Veterans Bridge was what really set people off. Weekly Fishing Report Week of December 18, 2024 Sam RayburnFAIR. Water slightly stained; 58 degrees; 2.02 feet below pool. The forecasted cold will initially slow the bite as fish become accustomed the fish will really start to feed. Bass are chasing shad in the shallows and off points. When you can find grass on the south end there is usually a bass that can be caught on crankbaits. Crappie and white bass are moving in the river channel.
