Mattie Louise Hearnsberger, 82, of Vidor, passed away on Monday, December 30th, 2024, at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves, Texas. At approximately 7:30 PM Monday evening OCESD #1 Firefighters responded to the area of HWY 105 & TEXLA for a motor vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler and an SUV. Full-time and volunteer members from both station 1 & 2, responded with Rescue 1, Squad 1, and Tanker 2, units arrived on scene to find an 18-wheeler carrying hazardous materials overturned in a ditch. Just before 9am Monday morning, West Orange firefighters were called to 712 Newton St. for a house fire. Firefighters arrived at the home near the intersection of Newton St. to find flames coming from the home. Firefighters from OCESD 2 and 3 along with Orange Fire Dept. assisted in fighting the fire.
