Kentucky freshman pitcher Carson Fall of Bridge City earned her first-career win in the circle Thursday afternoon in a 2-0 victory over the Wichita State Shockers. Texas State’s Jack Burke and Arkansas State’s Ashley Kim both finished in the top five of their respective tournaments to earn Sun Belt men’s and women’s golfers of the week. Chief Rod Carroll and the Vidor Police Dept. held an Awards Ceremony Thursday at City Hall for six employees for performing selfless actions. Dispatch Supervisor Amber Wyatt, Sgt. Ethan Mansfield, and Sgt. Josh Lockett were recognized for life saving actions during a suicide attempt in April 2024. Dispatcher Seth Cappen was recognized for his actions in June 2024 during a suicide attempt.
