St. Mary School in Orange, which has been educating students for over 100 years, has announced today that they will close at the end of the school year. If you are a dog owner, please be responsible and keep your dog on your own property. This will greatly reduce our call volume. Deputies were busy last week conducting pro-active criminal enforcement that resulted in 7 individuals being arrested for various charges. The Beaumont Founders Lions Club released the finalists for the Willie Ray Smith Awards which celebrates the top offensive and defensive football player in Southeast Texas as voted on by the media. Orangefield's Mason Manning is an offensive finalist. Manning had 1945 all-purpose yards for the district champion Bobcats. He joins Cam Dischler and Beau Daville as Bobcat finalists. The Lady Bears started the year off strong by finishing their first tournament with 4 wins and 2 losses at the Goose Creek/Baytown Tournament. They lost to Iowa Colony 3-2 and LaPorte 5-2 while some of their athletes were playing basketball. Then they won four in a row with wins over Humble, Sam Rayburn, CE King, and Houston Lamar.
