Pinehurst PD Makes Two Busts
The Pinehurst Police Department, with help from area departments, made two busts recently that resulted in the arrest of three people, including two illegals. On Monday, February 17, 2025, at approximately 9:22 am, Officer Justin Brown with the Pinehurst Police Department- Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 10 in Pinehurst. Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies capture a wanted Felon from Orange County. On February 26, 2025, at approximately 9:15 a.m., Jasper County deputies were deployed to a residence off of U.S 96 in Call, Texas. Located at the residence was James Tyler Chapman, 41, of Bridge City. Chapman had a felony Theft Warrant out of Orange County. He was arrested and brought to the Jasper County Jail. Wind Aids Brush Fire
Despite the rain last weekend a brush fire in Orange brought out every department Wednesday afternoon. The fire ran through a grassy area at the corner of Hwy. 62 and Tulane. OCESD3 Chief Matt Manshack said he believed the fire started on the Hwy. 62 side and burned approximately eight acres before they were able to get it under control and finally out around 4:15pm.
