Marjorie Lynn Coulter Wohler (March 6,1948 – February 25, 2025) BEAUMONT, TX – Marjorie Lynn Coulter Wohler was born in the Sand Hill Community of Gilmer, TX on March 6, 1948. Lynn, as she was affectionately called, was the youngest daughter of Cleo Sr. and Ima Dean Coulter. She was the apple of her Daddy and Mother’s eye and was loved unconditionally by her nine siblings. Sidney John “Sid” Caillavet, Jr., 93, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 6, 2023.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Orange.  Born in Orange, Texas, on December 9, 1929, he was the son of Sidney John Caillavet, Sr. and Dennis Bland Caillavet. Pinehurst PD Makes Two Busts

The Pinehurst Police Department, with help from area departments, made two busts recently that resulted in the arrest of three people, including two illegals. On Monday, February 17, 2025, at approximately 9:22 am, Officer Justin Brown with the Pinehurst Police Department- Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 10 in Pinehurst. Upon conducting the stop, Officer Brown made contact with the 33-year-old driver, Winker Jose Nava Herrera, and 21-year-old passenger, Jose Lorenzo Valero Rojas, both in the United States illegally from Venezuela. Chapman Arrested In Jasper Co.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies capture a wanted Felon from Orange County. On February 26, 2025, at approximately 9:15 a.m., Jasper County deputies were deployed to a residence off of U.S 96 in Call, Texas. Located at the residence was James Tyler Chapman, 41, of Bridge City. Chapman had a felony Theft Warrant out of Orange County. He was arrested and brought to the Jasper County Jail. Chapman is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Bobcats Spray Hornets

The Lady Bobcat bats were hot enough to dry the field Wednesday as they beat Hardin in the district opener 17-1 in three innings. Teal Kibodeaux got the win on the mound giving up 1 unearned run on 2 hits, with 8 strikeouts.  The Lady Bobcats compiled 13 hits including 3 homeruns in the 3 innings of play. Charlee Sanches went 2 for 3 with 2 homeruns, 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Hallee Becker had 3 hits including 2 doubles, 3 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases. Wind Aids Brush Fire

Despite the rain last weekend a brush fire in Orange brought out every department Wednesday afternoon. The fire ran through a grassy area at the corner of Hwy. 62 and Tulane. OCESD3 Chief Matt Manshack said he believed the fire started on the Hwy. 62 side and burned approximately eight acres before they were able to get it under control and finally out around 4:15pm.
