Tuesday night the city council of Orange was on hand to watch Golden Triangle Polymers drop a $250,000 check on the Orange Youth Baseball Softball League. LaComb struck out 5 and walked three and also collected an RBI on a Sac Fly. Family Escapes Fire
Tuesday around lunchtime fire departments from Orange and Little Cypress were called to 1101 Hickory Trails in the Cypress Bayou neighborhood. Colton Baker's wife and children were able to get out of the home without injury. Baker said he had someone over to do some work on the back corner of his home when he got a call from his wife saying the house was on fire. The Bakers moved in back in November 2024. University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball senior Bailey Frenzel has been named American Southwest Conference Hitter of the Week for the week ending March 9th. Frenzel, an infielder from Orange, hit .474 over six games last week. She went 9-for-19 from the plate, slamming one double and two home runs on the week. Frenzel drove in a team-high nine runs, scoring two of her own. Her pinch runners also scored three more runs on the week as Frenzel added three walks with just one strikeout.
