Harold Leslie Hearn, 87, of Bridge City, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 11, surrounded by his loving family after a short illness. Harold had three great loves—his family, Youth baseball, and music. Nicknamed “Cornbread”, he also could put away his mom “Nezzie” and sister Janice’s Southern cooking. An Air Force veteran and natural storyteller, he had a knack for spinning tales that could make anyone laugh. He had a sharp eye for a strike just inside the box and could play a Hammond B-3 organ that could bring a crowd to its feet. Richard Collier, a longtime resident of Vidor, passed away surrounded by family on March 14, 2025 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, Texas. He spent most of his life working as an auto mechanic, a trade he took great pride in. Recently the Garlyn Place held a groundbreaking and ribbon cutting for its new location at 905 Old Hwy. 90 in Vidor. Garlyn Place is a non-profit organization located in Orange County that empowers adults with developmental disabilities to connect with others and build a sense of belonging by providing transition, independence, and vocational opportunities.
