Officer Joshua Nash with the Pinehurst Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Strickland Drive in Pinehurst on Sunday, March 16th, 2025, at approximately 9:11 p.m., Officer Nash made contact with the driver, identified as 27-year-old Darrell Wayne Spencer Jr. Upon speaking with Spencer, Officer Nash suspected Spencer and the three passengers of criminal activity. The Bears pounded out 20 hits against Cambree LaComb and Kennadee Sheffield while Ella Stephenson and Tessa Erickson combined to give up one run on 5 hits with 11K's and no walks. On Friday, March 21, Southern Road and Bridge, LLC will close the Rainbow Bridge to begin extensive maintenance work. Weather permitting, this project is expected to take approximately 18 months to complete. Traffic will be detoured to the Veterans Memorial Bridge, which will have two lanes open for traffic in both directions. The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a fatal crash on state Highway 62, at the intersection of Waterwood Drive, that occurred Thursday, March 20, 2025. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 9:55 a.m., a Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling south on S.H. 62.
