It is with great pride that we acknowledge the life well lived by Carol Anne Perry, and with profound sadness that we acknowledge her passing on July 15, 2025. Carol was born on December 28,1945 in Neptune, New Jersey to Ruth Alice and Adrian Lincoln Parker. Sadly, Adrian was killed in an automobile accident two years later. A lifelong resident of Vidor, Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before returning home to build a life centered around family, hard work, and his many interests. House Fire On Courtland
Sunday night at approximately 10:06 PM, OCESD 1 Firefighters were called on for a reported residential structure fire. Crews responded to the 300 block of E Courtland to find a heavily involved single-story wood frame structure. The home was vacant, and a Primary and Secondary search for victims found none. The fire was quickly extinguished with no injuries and it is under investigation. OCESD#4 provided mutual aid. Criminal Trespass Arrest in Deweyville: On Thursday, September 4, 2025, Sergeant Cagle was dispatched to an address on County Road 4188, in reference to a person trespassing and refusing to leave the property. Sergeant Cagle was able to identify the suspect as James Peacock, who was standing on the front porch of the residence when he arrived. Peacock had previously been warned not to come onto the individual’s property. Dottie Ann Harmon Welch, a longtime resident of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 4, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dottie was raised in Orange, the daughter of Dolly Peveto Harmon and Newman Harmon, and the sister of the late Perry Harmon.
