On Sept. 10 at 6:30 PM, Orange County Sheriff’s Office Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the 2400 block of SH-73 in Bridge City. During the traffic stop, deputies developed probable cause to believe the driver, identified as Marvas Turner, was involved in criminal activity. Turner attempted to flee the scene of the traffic stop but was quickly detained for further investigation. A search of Turner’s vehicle revealed one pound two ounces of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and U.S. currency. Fire Damages Three Homes
One trailer was destroyed by fire and two others were damaged late Thursday night in the McLewis area. The call came in to OCESD #4 just before midnight and they arrived to find a trailer fully engulfed on Med Davis Road which is off of I-10 just west of the Hwy. 62 intersection. Firefighters battled flames and several propane bottles exploding while also trying to protect the homes on both sides of the trailer on fire. Weekly Fishing Report Week of September 10, 2025 Sabine LakeGOOD. 89 degrees. Speckled trout are good at the short rigs in 25-35 feet of water with three-quarter ounce jigs with LSU color baits. Nice tripletail can be caught running to the gulf. Some nice cobia and ling can also be caught running the rigs. Finishing up with nice catches of sheepshead and drum at the jetties working live shrimp on Carolina rigs right by the rocks on the bottom.
