The District 18-4A Track Meet began Monday in Bridge City with field events, the 3200 and the running prelims. The only field event that will be Wednesday with the running finals will be the boys and girls discus. The morning started off cloudy after an overnight rain, but the sun and the heat were in full display by 10:30am. The top four in each event will advance to the Area Meet. Boat Capsizes, Nine Rescued
Sunday evening a boat carrying nine passengers, including one child, capsized near the Western Ave bridge in Adams Bayou. A citizen, Eric Ellison, launched his boat at the Orange Boat Club and picked everyone up. Orange Police arrived at the boat ramp and reported no injuries. The capsized boat was also recovered.
