Nancy Jo (Rock) Shirley, 74, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas. Nancy was born on March 5, 1951 in Jasper, Texas to Louis Franklin Rock, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Goff. Nancy was the social butterfly of the family. After working for Orangefield ISD for 12 years, in the school cafeteria, she lovingly became known in the community, as the owner of Nan's Floral & Wedding Designs. Lady Bobcats Win Area Meet
The Orangefield Lady Bobcats liked winning the District Title so much they decided to win the Area Meet too as the coaches show off the Area trophy. In a meet between District 21 and 22-3A in Diboll Wednesday, the Lady Bobcats beat East Chambers and the field for the Area trophy with 107 points. An Orange, Texas, man has been sentenced to federal prison for violations related to a kidnapping in the Eastern District of Texas, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr. Putnam Darwin Richardson, 79, pleaded guilty to kidnapping and brandishing a firearm and was sentenced to 294 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. The Bobcats jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three thanks to a few hits and Cougar miscues. Ethan Sanders and Cole Sanches had two hits each.
