Using Urine Didn’t Deter Dog
A 50-year-old Orange resident has been ordered to federal prison for possession with intent to distribute over 23 kilograms of cocaine, announced U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei. Pablo Garcia Ortiz pleaded guilty April 2. U.S. District Judge David S. Morales has now ordered Ortiz to serve 36 months in federal prison to be immediately followed by five years of supervised release. At the hearing Sept. 11, the court heard additional evidence that detailed how Ortiz attempted to conceal the cocaine from detection. Gerald Johnson passed peacefully at home. He loved to travel and share stories about the places he lived and worked before retiring and returning to Orange. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, he also enjoyed good food—especially clam chowder—and classic TV shows. Lamar University got three key plays from its special teams – two blocked punts returned for scores and a blocked field goal – to build a huge 21-point first half lead and never looked back defeating Texas Southern, 31-7, Saturday evening at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas. Bridge City 21 Orangefield 14The 25th edition of the Bayou Bowl did not disappoint as Orangefield took a 14-0 lead but Bridge City would answer with 21 unanswered points for the win.
