Oscar James Peet Jr., 73, of Orange, Texas passed away April 9th, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. Oscar was born June 9th, 1950 in Orange, Texas to his parents, Oscar and Willie Mar Peet. He proudly joined the U.S.M.C. He served in Vietnam and returned to become a lifetime member of the D.A.V.
Oscar worked as a welder and was a member of the local Union 195. He loved fishing, his land, finding new back roads and restaurants. But, most of all, he loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carey Peet; daughter, Coleen LaFleur and husband Rodrick; son, John Peet; grandchildren, Sheldon LaFleur and wife Brooke, Payton LaFleur, and Dallas Grimes; great granddaughters, Hadley LaFleur and Avery O’Brien; sisters, Cora Lilley, Sue Williamson, and Delores Stewart; a host of nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Bob Buxton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Willie Mae Peet; brother, John Peet; sisters, Lancy Nixon and Olita Simmons.
