On Thursday, July 20, 2023, after rigorous investigation, Silsbee Police Investigator C. Montalvo, obtained a warrant of arrest for 17 year old Beaumont resident, Diante Davon Sostand, for the offense of Deadly Conduct, a 3rd Degree Felony, in connection with the July 14th shooting that occurred in the 300 block of South 14th Street in Silsbee. A 17 year old Orange man was shot in the stomach.
On this same date, at approximately 5PM, Sostand was apprehended by Beaumont Police Department’s SAU officers. Sostand was transported to the Silsbee Police Department where he was magistrated by Justice of the Peace for Hardin County Precinct 1, C. Ingram. A bond was set at $150,000. Sostand will be transported to the Hardin County Jail.

Friday night, July 14, shots rang out in a Silsbee neighborhood sending one to the hospital.
Silsbee Police say around 11:28pm they were called to the 300 block of 14th St. where a large group had gathered. Multiple gunshots were fired after an argument started. A 17 year old from Orange was the only person reported to be shot. He was taken to a Beaumont hospital. Police did not release his name nor his condition.
