
Orange police went to Interstate 10 Friday night for a call about domestic abuse in a moving vehicle. A 66-year-old Lumberton man was arrested for assault-family violence.
Police had a 911 call near 8 p.m. to westbound Interstate 10 near the 880 mile marker. The patrol officer saw a 2018 GMC SUV pulled to the side and a woman standing outside of it.
The 34-year-old woman told the officer she had picked her husband up at a Louisiana casino. He had been drinking and was verbally abusive. She said she asked about stopping to visit relatives in Orange and he told her he would beat her up if she stopped the car.
He then began pulling her hair and hitting her in the face. She told the officer she was driving and pulled over to the side of the road to avoid having an accident. She then got outside the SUV and called for help.
Police arrested Jonathan Curtis Allen for assault-family violence and took him to the Orange County Jail.
A Port Neches woman didn’t fool Orange police when she identified herself as Marilyn Monroe. She ended up going to jail, along with her friend, for misdemeanor public intoxication.
Orange police were called about 11 Saturday night to check an SUV stopped in the roadway of the north service road of Interstate 10 by Bob Hall Road.
The patrol officer reported the SUV was in the traffic lane with no lights on and two women were walking outside. When the officer asked one woman her name, she began laughing. The other woman told him she was Marilyn Monroe.
The officer could smell alcohol and arrested the Port Neches woman and a woman from Orange for the misdemeanor public intoxication.
