
A 66-year-old man was stabbed in the right upper chest Friday night during an argument with a woman at his house. John Judge was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Orange police were called at 9:40 p.m. Friday to a house in the 2000 block of Fourth Street in the Brownwood addition. The woman had left the house by the time police arrived but she later returned. Detective Captain Cliff Hargrave said no arrests have been made the case will be presented to a grand jury. Police did not have an update on Judge’s condition Monday afternoon.
A man at a church Halloween party discovered that volunteering isn’t always a treat. The man was helping with a community party Saturday evening at North Orange Baptist Church. He called Orange police at 8:30 p.m. because his smart phone was stolen. He told Officer Dylan Mulhollan he had plugged his Galaxy S5 phone into a wall plug in the gymnasium so it could charge. Hundreds of people attended the party. After it ended he couldn’t find the phone.

Burglary, 11:20 a.m. Friday, 100 College Street. A woman reported a 27-inch TV was taken from her apartment.
Theft, 12:37 p.m. Friday, 500 block of Gardenia Avenue. A contractor reported that an airless paint sprayer was missing from a job site.
A 54-year-old Groves man was arrested Friday for public intoxication after Orange police found an SUV parked on top of a hedge bush at the Texas Travel Information Center. Officer Byrum Perry reported personnel at the travel center off Interstate 10 called police at 10:35 a.m. Friday because of a reckless driver.
Officer Perry said the driver smelled of alcohol. He arrested the man for Class C misdemeanor public intoxication and took him to the Orange County Jail.
