
Two teenage brothers were taken to a hospital by ambulance Saturday evening after the go-cart they were riding on went into a ditch, according to Orange police. An officer went to the 5600 block of Mickler Drive off East Allie Payne Road at 7:25 p.m. Saturday. The father of the two told the officer they had been transported to a hospital.
An out-of-town man was beaten and his wallet stolen late Sunday morning. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the man was waiting for a ride at a business in the 2900 block of 16th Street about 11 a.m. Sunday. A woman approached him and asked if he wanted a bottle of water. He followed her to go to a nearby residence when two men attacked him and took the wallet. The patrol officer reported the man was bleeding from his face and his left eye was swollen.
Police found methamphetamine in a backpack after checking about people in a vacant building in the 500 block of Fifth Street. A patrol officer said he went to the building after a report of three men inside. The officer found two men in the backyard. He checked identifications and one man was from Virginia. The second man said his ID was in his backpack. The officer asked permission to look inside for the ID.
When the officer looked inside, he found a glass pipe used for smoking drugs. The officer then asked the man whether he had illegal drugs and the man admitted he did. The officer then found a yellow drill bit case with a baggie of meth and another glass pipe inside. Dallas Jordan was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and taken to the Orange County Jail. The other man was given a warning for trespassing.
An SUV was stolen Sunday night from the Oakwood Village Apartments on 37th Street. The owner called Orange police about 9:30 a.m. Monday to report his parked GMC Sierra was missing. The SUV is a gray 2007 model with the Texas license number of HDY0456.
