A woman was beaten and dragged by a car Sunday in the Navy Park neighborhood. She told Orange police her boyfriend, with whom she was living, was her attacker.
Police were called to the 400 block of Morrell Avenue at 11:44 a.m. Sunday. The woman said the attack had started earlier.
She said the man punched her with his fist and slammed her head into the hood of a parked car. Then he grabbed her by the waist and he got into a car. He drove off holding her by the waist outside the car and dragging her. Then he let her go and drove off.
The woman told police he had damaged her phone, so she drove to a relative’s house nearby. Soon, the attacker came to those apartments in a car driven by another man. She said the attacker damaged her vehicle in the parking lot before she had a chance to call police. Police reported seeing a side mirror missing from her SUV, which also had dents.
Detective Captain Robert Enmon Monday said the attack is under investigation.
In other Orange police reports, a man on Friday went to the police station to file a complaint about a woman providing alcohol to his juvenile son. He said he found text messages on his son’s phone showing that the woman, who he knows, was planning to get the son alcoholic beverages. The son admitted she got alcohol in March.
Police late Friday morning went to the Flying J truck stop, 7112 Interstate 10, to investigate a vehicle burglary. Then Friday afternoon, police went to Azalea Street in Roselawn for a report of a house burglary with power tools stolen.
