Friday a two car accident occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 62 and FM 105. Wesley McClelland, 26, of Orange, was trying to turn onto 105 from 62 in his GMC pickup when he failed to yield the right of way to southbound traffic. He struck a Chrysler 300 driven by Charles Hull, 37, of Groves, who was taken to a Beaumont hospital.

Sunday a traffic stop was made at Third and Burton by Officer Busby on a black Montero Sport. The driver Derrick Finley, 23, was arrested for having an outstanding warrant for marijuana possession with a $4000 bond.

The Orange Police Department seized a counterfeit $20 bill as evidence on Wednesday. Officer J. E. Baggett was dispatched to the convenience store at 333 Lutcher Drive in reference to a counterfeit bill. Baggett reported he made contact with a customer in the store who said he attempted to make a purchase from the store, but was told by the store clerk the currency was counterfeit.

Orange Police are also investigating two thefts and a burglary of a vehicle. One of the thefts included the taking of a firearm from a vehicle parked in the Pine Hollow Apartments. The owner of the vehicle told police she observed Wednesday morning the contents of her Hyundai Sonata’s center console were strewn across the front seat. She then found the firearm missing from the vehicle.

Officer Brian Latiolais was dispatched to 712 8th Street on Wednesday in reference to the theft of a lawn mower. The resident told Latiolais the red mower valued at $143 was sitting outside on the west side of the residence when she noticed it missing on Tuesday.

Police heard a complaint on Wednesday from a citizen concerning the burglary of her pickup truck. She told police that the Chevrolet Silverado was in the parking lot at 2801 Sunset on Tuesday night into Wednesday afternoon when someone made entry into and removed several items from it without her consent.

Orange Police are investigating a reported case of road rage that occurred Sunday evening. Officer Grant McLean reported that he was dispatched to the Northway Shopping Center at about 6:30 PM on Sunday where he spoke with a man who said he was threatened by a known suspect shortly before McLean arrived. The victim informed McLean that he was riding as a passenger in a vehicle traveling northbound on 16th Street behind another vehicle driven by an individual he knew. The driver of the other vehicle attempted to run the vehicle the victim was in off the road. The victim and the driver of their vehicle pulled into the shopping center parking lot to avoid the suspect. The suspect then drove his vehicle into the parking lot and all three persons exited the two vehicles. The suspect began shouting and advancing in an aggressive manner. The victim handed his phone to his driver who began dialing 911. Seeing this the suspect returned to his vehicle and drove away. The victim told Officer McLean that he feared for his life.
