
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on April 23, on State Highway 99, just east of mile marker 800 in Mont Belvieu.
The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 5:37 p.m., a 2014 white Ford F-250 truck, driven by John Trahan, 60, of Orange, was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of SH 99. Trahan drove the vehicle into the center median and continued traveling north until the median ended near Fisher Rd. He then drove off the center median landing on Fisher Road striking a concrete wall, the vehicle became engulfed in flames as a result of the impact of the crash.
Trahan was pronounced deceased by Judge Larry Cryer out of Chambers County. This crash remains under investigation as investigators determine if Trahan was having a medical emergency.
