A man from Orange was arrested Tuesday outside of LaGrange for possession of a controlled substance after a car sideswiped another vehicle.
KVUE TV in Austin reports 24-year-old Caleb Boaz is suspected of having crystal methamphetamine in the car.
The station’s website said Fayette County Sheriff’s Office had a 911 call at 1 p.m. Tuesday about the car, which was on on Highway 71 east of LaGrange. The caller also said the driver was acting strangely.
Sheriff’s deputies and troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety went to the collision. They said Boaz gave permission to search his car and law officers found the substance.
He was arrested and taken to the Fayette County Justice Center.
