Three Orange County baseball teams and two OC softball teams came home Friday night after big wins on the field. One is done till next week while while the other four play Saturday.
SOFTBALL
The Orangefield Lady Bobcats were too hot for Coldspring, winning 12-0 in 6 innings for a 2-0 series win.
Aubree Beck got things started as she plated Hallee Becker in the second. Charlee Sanches would follow that with a two run homer in the third. In the fourth, Alysen Vincent, Beck and Harleigh Rawls all drove in runs to make it 7-0 as the Bobcats continued to roll until they wrapped it up in the sixth.
Abigail Curphy got the win, striking out 6, walking one, and only giving up two hits.
They’ll play the winner between Pollok Central and Danbury in the third round.

LCM scored early and often in an 18-4 (6 inning) Game One win over Carthage. Every starter had at least one hit with the biggest hit coming from catcher Lexis Moss, a 3 run homerun in the second.
Jill Brown was 4-4 with 3RBIs and Ansley Moore was 3-5 with 3 RBI’s. Meantime LCM’s top four hitters (Frenzel, Cook, Moss and Washburn) were an incredible 8-18 with 6RBI’s.
Pitchers Ella Stephenson and Tessa Erickson combined to give up 4 runs on 4 hits with 5 walks and 5K’s.
Game Two is 4pm in Jasper with Gm. 3 to follow if necessary.

BASEBALL
Vidor beat Hardin-Jefferson 6-2 to force a deciding Gm. 3 on Saturday at noon in Anahuac.
The Pirates scored two in the first. Austin Cadroy tripled home Daigan Venable and then Landon Bailey singled home Cadroy.
Then after HJ scored to make it a 2-1 ballgame, the Pirates opened it up in the third with four runs. Cade Safer doubled to score J Odom. Then with the bases loaded, Wes Baker singled to bring in Safer. Venable followed that by driving in Lance Beavers with a single. The fourth run of the inning came on a ground out by Cadroy, scoring Bryce Bushelle.
Logan Morris got the complete game victory, giving up just one earned run on 6 hits with 3K’s and 2 walks. HJ used three pitchers in the game (Trotter, Chaisson, Milam).

Orangefield crushed Pollok Central 13-3 in five innings with seven runs in the first inning. Kane Smith lead a balanced offense going 2-2 with 3RBI and two of the Bobcats five stolen bases.
Brycen Tait got the win giving up 2 earned runs on 7 hits with 4K’s and no walks. Central used four pitchers as the Bobcats totaled 13 hits, 9 walks and only 3 strikeouts.
Game Two is Saturday at 1pm back in Cleveland.

The Bridge City Cardinals got a five inning no hitter from Braylen Collins in a 10-0 win. Collins struck out 7 and did not walk a batter.
The Cards pounded out 13 hits, scoring eight of their 10 runs in the third. John Van Huis, JS Bearden (2B), Justin Abate(2B) , Aidyn Mulhollan (3RBI), and Hunter Ford all had 2 hits a piece.
Game Two is 4pm at Anahuac.
