The city of Orange is ready Tuesday to sign more contracts for the construction of the Boardwalk Grille restaurant along the boardwalk in downtown.
The proposed contract will have construction starting no later than February 1 next year. The restaurant is to be open and operating within six months.
The City Council and the city’s Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors will vote to provide up to $200,000 to install infrastructure like water and sewer services to the site of the new restaurant.
That site is a grassy lawn on Fifth Street and Division Avenue in the downtown area along the boardwalk. The money is from the Economic development corporation which collects a sales tax.
The city has previously agreed to the restaurant plans with Jake LeMoine. After the agreement, LeMoine opened the Boardwalk Grille in the old Southern Printers Building on Fifth Street.
The EDC board meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday and the council meets at 5:30 p.m. The meetings are in the council auditorium next to the Orange Public Library.
