
The city of Orange had the largest building permit issued in June within the city limits. G&G Enterprises took out the permit for $122,000 addition to the fire station on Allie Payne Road.
Also, the city issued permits to demolish 15 dilapidated houses in town. The addresses are: 1008 College, 407 Bilbo, 3744 Ridgemont Drive, 1408 N. Hart Avenue, 1603 Georgia, 1030 Ruby Lane, 1210 13th Street, 2114 Eighth Street, 605 North Street, 2212 Pacific, 1406 N. Hart Avenue, 1807 Georgia, 2912 20th Street, 1009 13th Street, and 1407 John Avenue.
Two permits were issued for new house construction. The permits are for a $72,145 house on Dorman Road and an $80,000 house on John Avenue.
Seven permits were issued for residential repairs and remodeling. Two of those permits totaled $45,000 and were for flood damage after the March Sabine River Flood. The permits were for a house on Rosewood Drive and one on Cooper Drive. The Orange City Council voted to waive permit fees for flood damage repairs.
Two residential repair permits were for fire damage. One was for $80,000 on Camellia Street and the other was $21,000 on Knox Avenue. Three other houses had a total of $48,500 in repairs.
One permit was given for a new house roof for $12,600. Two permits for residential driveway concrete work were issued for a total of $4,800. In addition, two residential fence permits totaled $8,000.
Residential mechanical permits for air conditioning and heating units went to four new home constructions and one to repair flood damage. Three of the new home mechanical permits were in Cypresswood Village subdivision. The other was on Armitage Drive.
A commercial mechanical permit for $5,500 went to the Blue Bird Fish Camp store off Simmons Drive.
