The former Five Palms Car Wash met the wrecking ball this week as the City of Orange has contracted some 32 properties to be cleared. It was located behind Dairy Queen on 16th St, next to HEB.
The properties have been deplorable for some time. The city will be spending approximately $140,000 to tear them down, using several companies.
Some of the properties to be leveled, like the car wash that has been closed for years, will not only clean up the area but also provide options for new businesses or residents that want to come to the area.
