
Friday night a man was driving a Lincoln northbound on Hwy. 87 N when he attempted to turn left onto Clark Lane.
Traveling southbound was William Van Pelt and two passengers in a Ford pickup.
The two collided with the truck ending up in the ditch of the Drake Presbyterian Church.
The three occupants of the truck were taken to the hospital to be checked out. Justin Askari, 34, refused treatment and was cited turning when unsafe.

On March 24, 2023, I was contacted by a trucking company in Brookhaven, MS, about a trailer that
was stolen from the Flying J parking lot.

A 25 year old woman with three juvenile passengers were traveling on 28th St. in a red Dodge pickup. They slowed down to turn right onto Sunset (in front of the Country Club) when they were struck from behind by another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle got out, then got back in and left the scene. No description of the vehicle was given by OPD.

On Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 9:52 a.m., OPD was dispatched to the former Long’s Furniture location at 200 N. 15th St. in reference to a burglary of a building. The complainant reported several items were stolen. Information was gathered for a
report.

On Saturday afternoon a 20 year old man from Beaumont lost control of his Mustang as he traveled down FM 105 in Orangefield. He crossed the opposite lane of traffic and went through a residential fence before coming to a stop. He was cited for failure to maintain financial responsibility, failure to control speed and expired registration.
