Orange police are looking for an older-model white Chevrolet Tahoe in connection with the shooting death early Saturday morning of a 34-year-old man from Orange.
Officers were called about 2 a.m. to the 900 block of Second Street because of the sound of gunshots. The body of Jonathan Joseph was found in the street and he had been shot several times.
Detective Captain Robert Enmon said investigators have information that a white Tahoe from between 2005-2010 with black molding on at least the drivers side may have been involved.
He said Joseph “lived around the corner” and had been riding a bicycle. Police believe a handgun was used and numerous shell casings were recovered from where the victim was found.
Anyone with information about the Tahoe or the shooting should contact the Orange Police Department at 409-883-1026, or Crimestoppers at 409-833-TIPS.
A man at the Cypresswood Apartments, 1010 South Highway 87, called police about 11 Saturday night to report he had been robbed by a man holding a handgun at him. Captain Enmon said the victim told police he had made an agreement to buy a TV from an individual while at a store in West Orange. He made an arrangement for the exchange. Instead, the man pointed the gun at him and demanded his cash. No one was injured.
A purse and wallet were stolen from a pickup truck left parked Friday night at a house in the 1400 block of Beagle Road in Little Cypress. A woman called police about 6 a.m. Saturday to report the items missing, along with her driver’s license and credit cards. She told an officer she had left the truck unlocked about 4 Friday afternoon.
A 31-year-old woman went to the police station Sunday afternoon to report an aggravated assault with a motor vehicle. She told an officer she was walking about noon from the Navy Park neighborhood to the apartments at 111 Pine Avenue. When she was at Second Street and Burton Avenue, a 35-year-old woman driving a vehicle tried twice to hit her with the vehicle.
