The Orange Police are investigating an aggravated assault on Saturday that involved a shooting. The police were dispatched at 1:47 AM on Saturday to a business establishment at 1411 Simmons Drive in reference to a large crowd and the owner of the property requesting they be removed from his property.
A female advised the police that her gray 2011 Chevrolet car had been shot multiple times. The vehicle was parked on Turret Avenue adjacent to the club. The police officer observed that the vehicle had several bullet holes in the hood and the front windshield.
The victim advised that a known suspect blocked her vehicle from entering onto Simmons Drive from the parking lot and fired several shots at her and her vehicle. The suspect then fled the area in a black car.

An arrest was made early Saturday morning following an alarm in the 7200 block of Interstate 10, Circle K. Police arrived at the location at 12:46 AM and noticed a 2019 Ford Mustang parked by a gas pump.
Officers talked with the occupants of the vehicle and noticed a strong odor of what was believed to be marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Several electronic devices were observed in the back seat.
The driver and the passenger were asked to exit the vehicle and a clear plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance was in plain view in the front driver’s seat. During a search of the vehicle officers found 18 I-Phones, 6 I-Pads, a MacBook, a LG phone, 8 Samsung phones, 7 charging cubes, 3 charging cords, and 4 sets of Apple headphones.
The police arrested the driver Raymond Allen Derks, age 28, of DeSoto, Texas. He was charged with possession of Marijuana and was transported to the Orange County Jail. The passenger, age 24, was released with no charges at this time.
